Fun at the Fire Station

Kayla and I go to a play group on Friday mornings with a few friends from church, but this morning our play group took a special field trip to the Fire Station.

First we watched a video about fire safety, narrated, of course, by a dalmation. Kayla loved it. Then the firefighter put on his suit (that part kind of scared Kayla), and then we went on a tour of the fire station. Kayla loved seeing the trucks and was very eager to go inside. She even had the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat, so that was really cool. At the end of the tour Kayla received her very own “Junior Firefighter” sticker which she’s still wearing on her shirt. I took some cute pictures, so maybe Aaron will help me post some later.

After our tour, we went to McDonald’s PlayLand for some healthy food and fun. (Yes, I actually do get healthy food for us at McDonalds–grilled chicken salad, fruit & yogurt parfaits, water, that sort of thing). We came home to read a few books, and now Kayla is down for her nap. She was being really sweet right before I put her in bed. She was patting my belly and saying “Hi, Baby.” Then she would give the baby kisses. She’s going to be a great big sister!

Thanks for the update. It put a smile on Grandma Kasey’s face.
