Conversations with Madeline

Yesterday, after Aaron left for work, I went in to see Madeline, who woke happily in her crib. This is how our conversation went:

Jen: Good morning!

Madeline: Daddy!

Jen: Daddy is not here. Where is Daddy?

Madeline: Bye bye.

Jen: That’s right. Do you know where he went?

Madeline: Starbucks!

Hmm … perhaps having your 19-month-old think you’re at Starbucks instead of at work is a sign you’re drinking too much coffee! :)

I would say that perhaps your “perhaps” statement at the end might be true. Moreover, the fact that a 19-month-old has the word “Starbucks” in her vocabulary at all perhaps means that the whole world is drinking too much coffee! Love you. Mom
