The Fire

It was 2:39 a.m.  The sound of a siren woke me up.  Flashing lights danced around our bedroom, and we smelled smoke.  We pretty quickly figured out that our house—and our girls—were ok, but smoke was pouring out of the neighbor’s house.  We went outside to find that nobody was injured and that the firefighters had the fire under control.  Our quiet little street remained busy for a couple more hours, but when I got up this morning everything was calm once again.  We still don’t know the cause of the fire.

What an eventful weekend!

  • Glad to hear that your home stayed safe and that no one was hurt!

  • Wow I think my heart skipped a beat when I read the title. Did the girls sleep through the commotion? Which house, the student rental?
